You know those nights where you feel so unloved and alone? When you wish you could have someone to hold you and tell you they love you? The love we experience on earth will never compare to God’s love for us. Our hearts have been made to cry out for a love that can only come from our creator. A guy may seem like the best fix, but only God is a lasting answer. This truth is written all over the Bible. Did you know that the Bible is God’s love letter to us? Isaiah 43 is a great example of God writing us a letter. When I read scripture, I like to read it and then write it out in my own words. This helps me better understand what I have read. For this particular chapter, I read the passage as if God hand wrote me a love letter in beautiful calligraphy. I wrote it in my journal in the exact same way. You can do the same thing. First, read Isaiah 43. Then write it out in your words as if God was speaking directly to you. Here is my love letter from God:

Dear my daughter Joy, I created you. I formed you. Fear not for I have redeemed you. I have called you by name. You are mine. When you pass through the waters, I’ll be with you. The waters won’t overwhelm you. When you walk through fire, you won’t be burned. And the flame shall not consume you. I am the Lord your God, your savior. The holy one. You are precious in my eyes, and honored, and I love you. Fear not for I am with you. I created you for my glory. I formed you and made you. I want you to know and believe me and understand that I am he. The Lord. There was none before me and none will come after me. Don’t remember the pains of the past, I am doing new things. I formed you so you would praise me. You aren’t giving me all your heart, you aren’t satisfied in me, instead you have burdened me with your sins. But I am your God. I blot out your transgressions for my own sake. I will not remember your sins. Love, Your heavenly Father

Did you catch that God said I love you?! Read verse 4 again, “Because you are precious in my eyes, and honored, and I love you.” God loves us and he has written us love letters. His love doesn’t have stipulations. No where in Isaiah 43 does it say, “I love you only if you do this… or act like this…”. God loves us through and through. I challenge you to begin reading scripture as a love letter written from God to you. Here are some additional verses that show God’s love for you: Song of Songs 8:6-7, Ephesians 3:14-19, and Isaiah 54:10.

Do you have any other verses that are examples of God’s love letter to us? Comment below!

I’m praying that this will open your heart and help you understand how deep and how wide God’s love is for you.
